Huey falls in love with a beautiful black singer that is set for stardom. The racial tensions of the era puts the music and their love at risk.

The story is set in the city of Memphis, where Rock 'n' Roll was born in the 1950's. From the Tennessee night clubs to the recording studios to the radio stations, Rock 'n' Roll grew and spread across America.

Memphis continues with Tony award winning performances on Broadway at the Shubert Theatre in New York City. Memphis first opened with premieres in September of 2009 and won the Tony Award for Best Musical in 2010!

Memphis is directed by Chrisopher Ashley (Xanadu), and Sergio Trujillo (Jersey Boys) did the choreography. The cast stars Chad Kimball, Montego Glover, Derrick Baskin, J. Bernard Alloway, James Iglehart, Michelle McGrath, and Cass Morgan.
